Tighten up your Excel 2007 PivotTables with a couple of new layout options

I have a PivotTable with two columns on the left: one with a marketing campaign and a second column for the campaign splits. The PivotTable looks crowded because the campaign codes each repeat three times (one for each split). I’m upgrading to Excel 2007 soon. Will Excel 2007 have an easy way to clean up the PivotTable so that the label items don’t repeat?

I have good news! Since you’re upgrading to Excel 2007, you’ll have more PivotTable layout options than you would have in earlier versions of Excel. In Excel 2007, you can use the Compact Form (the default), the Outline Form, or the Tabular Form. We’ll show you how to change your PivotTable layout and give you a little bit of information about each layout and the differences between them.
Modify your PivotTable layout in seconds
To change your layout in an Excel 2007 PivotTable, you don’t need to jump through any hoops. The process couldn’t get easier. Just follow these steps:
1. Select any cell in your PivotTable so that the PivotTable Tools ribbon displays, which includes a Design tab and an Options tab.
